By the time CTE students graduate from high school, they can be well on their way to a successful career, having already earned industry credentials or college credit and/or having participated in work-based learning. This is all in addition to the relevant hands-on learning CTE students experience in the classroom and laboratory.
JROTC, the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, is co-sponsored by Austin ISD and the U.S. Air Force and Navy. JROTC provides students the opportunity to become informed and responsible citizens, develop leadership and self-discipline skills and become involved in their school and community. There is no military obligation associated with or incurred by participating in the program.
The International Baccalaureate curriculum is a challenging framework for high school (IB Diploma Program), middle school students (Middle Years Program). and Primary Years Programme that encourages making practical connections between studies and the real world. It is a comprehensive course of study designed for highly motivated students.
