Early College High School Program Expands to Travis

The Early College High School Program—previously available only at LBJ and Reagan high schools—expanded to Travis High School this year.

The program is a partnership between Austin ISD and Austin Community College and allows students to earn up to 60 hours of college credit for free, with the opportunity to earn an associate degree.

“This program not only saves students and their families money when they earn college credit for free, but it will also allow these students to complete their bachelor's degree early,” said Travis High School Principal Ty Davidson.

House Park Reopening and Taco Shack Bowl

Join Austin ISD to celebrate the reopening of House Park with a ribbon-cutting, followed by the 14th Annual Taco Shack Bowl.

After flooding damaged House Park during the Memorial Day weekend, AISD cleaned the grounds and replaced the turf as well as a transformer.

House Park reopens for the Taco Shack Bowl, a football game between high school rivals, the Anderson Trojans and McCallum Knights. Superintendent Paul Cruz will call the coin flip.

The winner will be awarded the Taco Shack Bowl trophy during a presentation on the field following the game.
