Deadline for Priority Transfers, Requests for First-round Lottery is Today

The Austin School District continues to accept applications for school transfers for the 2014-15 school year. The deadline to apply for priority transfers and non-priority transfers to be considered during the first-round lottery selection is today, Friday, Jan. 31st.

Each year, AISD determines which schools should be frozen to transfers because they have, or are expected to have, enrollments that exceed their capacities. Also, some schools are frozen to maintain stability in tracking patterns.

2012-13 Annual Report Now Available Online

The Austin Independent School District's 2012-13 Annual Report is now available to download online.  The publication is produced annually by the Department of Communications and Community Engagement and provides families, staff members and community members with a snap shot view of the district, including demographics, test results, information about AISD programs and more.

Trustees Pay Tribute to Community Leader and First African American AISD Board President, Dr. Marvin Griffin

On Monday, Austin ISD’s Board of Trustees approved a resolution to honor Dr. Marvin C. Griffin, a lifelong learner, community leader and first African American elected to serve as president of the board.

Griffin, who passed away Dec. 25 at the age of 90, was honored for his service to students and families and for working for the successful integration of AISD schools.
