Superintendent Carstarphen: How AISD Works to Ensure Gun Free Zones; Prevention and Security for Student and Staff Safety

Dear AISD Colleagues and Community:

Experts report that school- and college-age kids are not only safer but far more secure on school campuses than anywhere else. Still, I know that I am struggling in the wake of the recent tragedy at Lanier High School.

Tonight: We are all Vikings; Happy Homecoming Lanier

Go all ye Vikings: After this week's tragedy, Lanier students come together for Homecoming festivities tonight at Nelson Field.

Principal Kathy Ryan thanks Austin for the outpouring of love and support for the school and invites the community to cheer on the Vikings and all AISD students at football games across the city.

This Friday, Eagles, Trojans, Mr. Maroo and Raiders enter the field.

But, tonight, we are all Vikings.
