AISD Presents the All-City Choral Festival

AUSTIN, Texas­—Austin ISD has prepared a special night to showcase the district’s vocalists at the All-City Choral Festival. At the event, approximately 800 singers will perform for more than 2,000 attendees.

What: All-City Choral Festival, featuring 49 elementary schools, 14 middle schools and 11 high schools, combines students into three honor choirs. Each honor choir performs three to five pieces and then a grand finale is performed by all the singers.

Eagle Talk Show Takes on Bullying during Bullying Prevention Month

As part of National Bullying Prevention Month, AISD’s Eagle Talk Show presented “Take a Stand, Lend a Hand,” an episode dedicated to preventing bullying.

The show, hosted by Parent Support Specialist Mycah Lee Arellano, is a bilingual program focused on academic development of both parents and scholars. The show introduces audiences to guests who have manifested their dreams and have knowledge that is relevant to scholars and families and inspires students to reach their goals.

Celebrate Digital Citizenship Week Oct. 21-25

Through Oct. 21-25, AISD will join other districts around the state to celebrate Texas Digital Citizenship Week. The week is a great time to jumpstart, renew or double-down on your school’s commitment to engaging students in learning important digital citizenship skills.

Everyday, AISD students test their digital citizenship knowledge with posts, searches, chats, text messages, file downloads and profile updates.

Help AISD engage students, teachers and families in thinking critically, behaving safely, and participating responsibly online.

Children's Author Yuyi Morales to Visit Mathews Elementary

AISD welcomes children's author and illustrator Yuyi Morales to Mathews Elementary for a special reading of her newest book, Niño Wrestles the World.

Born and raised in Mexico, Morales has been a radio producer and children's book creator since coming to the United States. Her books have won numerous awards and honors, and Morales is the first author/illustrator to be three times recognized by the Pura Belpre Committee.

AISD Reminds Drivers and Students About Road Safety During National School Bus Safety Week

AUSTIN, Texas—Austin ISD reminds its communities about the importance of school bus safety during National School Bus Safety Week.

Nearly 22,000 AISD students ride to and from school on more than 500 school buses every day. The district has 656 transportation employees dedicated to provide safe transportation for students.
