AISD, APIE Honor Volunteers During Celebrate

Austin, TexasThe Austin Independent School District invites staff members, families and community members to help celebrate AISD volunteers who commit their time, talent and energy to help strengthen Austin schools.

AISD is teaming up with Austin Partners in Education to host Celebrate, which recognizes the hundreds of volunteers who serve in a variety of roles--from reading tutors and classroom coaches to mentors who provide support to students who have a parent in prison.

Reminder: Trustees Recognize Exemplary Students, Teachers Today

Austin, TX—Today, the Austin Independent School District's Board of Trustees will recognize 115 exemplary students from across the district for their stellar performances and placing in state and national competitions. The Board also will recognize about 40 teachers and coaches for their leadership and service to the district's students.

Employees: Share Your Input on the AISD 2014-15 Calendar Survey

Austin ISD employees are encouraged to provide their feedback on three draft recommendations for a 2014-15 school calendar that have been created by the district's calendar task force.

AISD Statement on Travis County Taxpayer’s Union Lawsuit Filing and Court Hearing

AUSTIN, TX—The Austin Independent School District released the following statement regarding the court hearing on a lawsuit filed by the Travis County Taxpayer’s Union SPAC:

A hearing by Judge Orlinda Naranjo at 10:57 a.m. Friday, April 26, found the request for a temporary restraining order without merit and the order was denied.
