LASA’s Open House and Showcase

Parenting with Love and Logic Workshops

The Austin Independent School District’s Parent Support Office will be offering free one-night workshops focused on “Parenting with Love and Logic" to provide parents with simple and practical techniques to effectively handle challenging child behaviors. The workshops will begin Nov.15 and will be held every Tuesday until Dec. 13. The workshops will be held in English at Becker and Allan elementary, there will also be workshops in Spanish and English at Lanier High School.

Austin ISD Co-Hosts Family Symposium

Austin, TX— The Austin Independent School District (AISD) is pleased to partner with Family Life International Fellowship to host "Family Symposium" on Saturday, November 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Greater Calvary Bible Church. The event is aimed at helping children succeed in school and prepare for college. Austin ISD Board of Trustee member Cheryl Bradley and Superintendent Meria Carstarphen will speak briefly at the event. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Arlene Ackerman, a former superintendent from Philadelphia Public Schools who created "Parent University."

Lanier High School Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Austin, TX— Austin Independent School District is celebrating "50 Years of Greatness" at Lanier High School Saturday, Nov. 12, at Lanier High School. The event begins with a 3K Viking Charge Run and includes the opening and resealing of a time capsule, the dedication of the school theatre and a reunion of staff members and students, that includes dinner and live music.

LBJ Early College High School Community Harvest Dinner

What: LBJ Early College High School is inviting parents, students, and community memebers to come out and enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner with the LBJ Early College High School family. Parents will also recieve pertinent information regarding Early College High School and Academic Plans.
