IDEA Allan On-Track to Open in August
Austin, TX—IDEA Allan, Austin ISD's new, in-district charter school, is on-track to meet its enrollment goals after completing its first phase of enrollment, which ends today. In addition, enrollment at two of the district's area elementary schools, Govalle and Ortega, will increase for the 2012-13 school year.

AISD Board of Trustees Approves New Principal Appointments
Correction: Corrine Saenz taught in Sheldon ISD at Sheldon Elementary, Sheldon Intermediate and C.E. King Middle schools and was a counselor in Grand Prarie ISD, Saenz did not teach in GPISDOn Monday, June 20, Austin ISD's Board of Trustees approved the appointments of six new AISD principals. EDF Climate Corps Fellow Uncovers Energy-saving Opportunities for Local Schools
Austin ISD hosted 2015 EDF Climate Corps Fellow Maxwell Sykes this summer to help the district better manage its energy use and costs. Sykes presented his findings at a community showcase on September 17 where he outlined a plan for achieving estimated annual energy cost savings of $1.7 million to $5.2 million per year.
