Teacher Appreciation Week is May 2–6 this year. AISD’s recognition will continue throughout the month—and includes Salute on Tuesday, May 17, at the AISD Performing Arts Center.This is a wonderful opportunity for school communities to celebrate AISD’s more than 6,300 classroom teachers—and how they make a difference in the lives of Austin’s children.
Kealing Middle School Teacher Awarded Prestigious Presidential Award from White House
The White House awarded Austin ISD Kealing Middle School math teacher Patty Hill a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching is the highest recognition that a kindergarten through 12th grade mathematics or science teacher may receive for outstanding teaching in the United States.

U.S. Air Force Band of the West Concert at Lanier

Meal Programs
AISD provides breakfast and lunch daily at all schools, as well as after-school and summer meals at many eligible campuses. AISD provides free breakfast and lunch for all students at many schools through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program. Students at schools not eligible for the CEP program dine at school using their meal status–free, reduced-price, or paid.
