Austin, Texas—The Austin Independent School District will adopt a summer efficiency schedule for six weeks to reduce energy costs from June 23 through Aug. 8. Classified Appreciation Week, will be celebrated from March 5-9, to build awareness about the crucial role and essential contributions of AISD's more than 6,000 classified employees including cafeteria workers, secretaries, teachers’ aides, food service staff, custodians, maintenance workers, paraprofessionals and bus drivers, among others.
Bedichek Junior Marines Win National Championship
Hard work and a drive for excellence earned the Bedichek Junior Marines (right) three titles at the National Middle School Drill Championships in Dallas.Students received awards in: Armed Drill Team Exhibition, Unarmed Color Guard Performance and Unarmed Color Guard Overall.
