Student-Athletes Stand up to Domestic, Dating Violence
Austin ISD Athletics has been doing its part to promote safe and healthy relationships during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.In partnership with the Travis County Sheriff's Office, Texas Advocacy Project and SAFE, student-athletes have been wearing purple ribbons in October to encourage others to stand up against dating and domestic violence.
AISD Statement on the Arrest of Former Reagan High School Teacher John Baird
John Baird, a first year teacher in AISD at Reagan Early College High School, submitted his resignation on Monday, after his arrest by Lago Vista Police. He is no longer employed at AISD.AISD received information over the winter break that Baird was being investigated under the suspicion of "enticing a child" by Lago Vista Police. The incident being investigated involved a Lago Vista resident.
