Austin ISD to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in Virtual Event
Austin ISD is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, with a virtual kickoff celebration event highlighting the Hispanic diversity throughout the district. Superintendent Stephanie S. Elizalde will be recognizing the rich Hispanic cultures represented in AISD. Participants will enjoy performances from talented groups from across the community.

Last week, the Austin ISD Board of Trustees named Stephanie Elizalde the lone finalist for Superintendent of AISD. We are excited for the Austin community to get to know Dr. Elizalde and learn about her vision for our district. TEA Grants AISD $750,000 to Align Academic, Support Services Reagan Family of Schools
Austin ISD has been granted $750,000 as part of the Texas Education Agency Community Partnerships Initiative. The grant will focus on aligning academic programming as a core structure in the Reagan Early College High School learning community, complemented by streamlined student and family supports.
AISD, Austin Learning Academy Offer Free GED Classes
Austin ISD and the Austin Learning Academy are partnering to offer free GED classes to the community. Classes will be held at Garza High School, 1600 Chicon St., Portable 405.The program will offer both day and night classes to students, with day classes taking place Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and night classes offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m.
Bond Steering Committee (BSC)

AISD to Provide Free Meals for All Students at 74 Schools
For the 2023-24 school year, AISD will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch for all students at 74 schools through the federally funded Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program (schools are listed below).
Austin ISD Board Approves Seton Healthcare Family as Health Services Partner
Austin ISD's Board of Trustees approved a $7.1 million contract with Seton Healthcare Family at tonight's regular board meeting. The contract includes 75 full-time registered nurses, 48 clinical assistants and five administrative supports.
