Freezing temperatures and icy roads are forecast for the Austin area in the next few days, so we’ve made the decision to close all schools and offices for Thursday, Feb. 3, and Friday, Feb. 4.

• And today, Wednesday, Feb. 2, after-school activities will be canceled, including after-school care.

The details: Students and staff will not be expected to learn or work virtually during the closure.

• The 12 Austin ISD COVID testing hubs and vaccination sites will be closed Feb. 3-4.

• We’re also rescheduling any community meetings (virtual or otherwise) including our Budget meeting.

• If the board approves a resolution, we will not need to make up these two days.
