Eligibility for Section 504 Services
Eligibility Under Section 504 To qualify under Section 504, the student must have “a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.” To determine eligibility, the campus Section 504 team will consider first whether the student has a physical or mental impairment and whether the impairment substantially limits a major life activity.

Join us for the Central Texas African American Family Support Conference which will be held virtually, Feb. 3-5 from 8:30 a.m.–6 p.m.
District Presents $1.73 Billion Budget to Trustees
Austin ISD’s $1.73 billion budget for 2021-22 includes some increases for critical areas, such as $137 million for special education and $1.5 million for additional transportation routes, as well as funds to help the district address mental health and academic needs following the pandemic.
Members
The Austin ISD Ad Hoc Budget Committee consists of members from standing Austin ISD committees. Each committee was invited to place two representatives to participate in the Ad Hoc Budget Committee. Additional members were appointed by Austin ISD’s Board of Trustees.
