Austin ISD Launches Caregiver Support, Community Learning Space Webpages
Austin ISD has launched new webpages to support Community Learning Spaces and caregivers as students begin learning remotely for the first four weeks of school, beginning Sept. 8. Austin ISD defines a Community Learning Space as a place outside school where a legal guardian takes the student to receive in-person supervision, access to digital resources and other support.
Family Support Cooperative Meeting
The Austin Family Support Cooperative is a partnership between the Austin Independent School District (AISD), Austin Travis County Integral Care, Easter Seals of Central Texas, NAMI Austin and the Arc of the Capital Area created to inform and support families of children with disabilities.
League of Women Voters Hosts Community Meeting Regarding District 1 Middle Schools
What: The League of Women Voters of the Austin Area will host a community conversation regarding middle schools in District One. The conversation will focus on what the community says about the shared responsibility in providing leadership that helps make education work for middle schoolers in the district.
AISD to Provide Free Produce Boxes featuring Texas-Grown Foods / El AISD distribuirá cajas de frutas y vegetales gratis que contienen alimentos cultivados en Texas
(El español está disponible abajo) Beginning July 22, families will receive free produce boxes at AISD curbside meal sites. The boxes will feature locally grown produce, such as peppers, melons, squash, carrots and other seasonal staples. The Common Market Texas, a mission-driven distributor of sustainable, local farm foods will prepare and deliver the produce boxes to AISD.
Eat Up: AISD Celebrates National School Lunch Week Oct. 11–14
Austin ISD is celebrating National School Lunch Week Oct. 11–14 to recognize the National School Lunch Program and the 77,000 meals served every day.National School Lunch Week emphasizes healthy, global and local foods offered daily at AISD schools.

Update 9:26 p.m. Feb.16: Classes at Bowie High School will continue as scheduled tomorrow, February 17. AISD plumbing staff were able to locate the water line break and make all necessary repairs.
