Meal Programs
AISD provides breakfast and lunch daily at all schools, as well as after-school and summer meals at many eligible campuses. AISD provides free breakfast and lunch for all students at many schools through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program. Students at schools not eligible for the CEP program dine at school using their meal status–free, reduced-price, or paid.

Apply for Summer Meal Service Children need nutritious meals to learn, grow, and thrive—even when school is out. Thanks to federally funded Texas Department of Agriculture meal programs, we provide free breakfast and lunch for students at many schools throughout the summer.

For the 2023-24 school year, AISD will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch for all students at 74 schools through the federally funded Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program (schools are listed below).

Good Deal: Free Meals
Children need nutritious meals to learn, grow and thrive—even when school is out. Through the Summer Food Service Program, Austin ISD will continue to serve free breakfast and lunch to local children and teens 18 and younger, regardless of economic status and whether or not the child attends AISD. The Write To Me Foundation in cooperation with the Greater Austin Community of volunteers, corporations, agencies, non-profits, and community organizations will host its annual prom dress giveaway in Central Texas.
AISD to Resume Weekend Meal Offerings
Austin ISD Food Services has reinstated its weekend meal program, allowing families with students under the age of 19 to again pick up bundles, which include six meals, during Friday distribution. Austin ISD to Adjust Meal Distribution
AISD will adjust its meal distribution plan to provide meals Monday through Friday, no longer providing weekend meals, starting April 3. The adjustment was necessary after the Texas Department of Agriculture changed its policy around reimbursement of weekend meals.
