Partnership That Helps Families and Restaurants to Continue Through December
A partnership that helps feed Austin ISD caregivers and support local restaurants will continue through December after the city of Austin voted to extend funding for the Caregiver Meal program. The Caregiver Meal program was made possible by the Austin Ed Fund’s AISD Crisis Support Fund, which received an additional $1.5 million dollars.
Austin ISD Will Serve Up Good Nutrition for Local Children This Summer
Bringing healthy summer meals to the Austin community ensures kids have a healthy vacation and return to school ready to learn. This summer, Austin ISD will serve anyone 18 years old and younger healthy meals at more than 50 campuses at no cost through the Summer Food Service Program. Both breakfast and lunch will be offered at all AISD summer meal sites.

AISD will partner with the Central Texas Food Bank to provide access to healthy food while campuses are closed for spring break. AISD curbside meal sites will serve free seven-day meal packs prior to the break on Thursday, March 11. Offices, meal service will resume July 13 Austin ISD will be closed for one week, July 6-10, for its annual summer break. All AISD offices and schools will be closed during this period.
