Austin ISD has announced the names of 23 schools that will be frozen to transfers during the 2017-18 school year. Each year, AISD determines which schools should be frozen to transfers because they have, or are expected to have, enrollments that exceed their capacities. TEA Recognizes AISD Overall Performance as a "B" Indicating Recognized Performance in State Accountability System
According to the Texas Education Agency's preliminary ratings released today, Austin ISD earned an overall performance rating of B, which is the recognized rating, with 61 schools earning academic distinction designations. "We're proud to earn a Recognized rating from the Texas Education Agency.

Parent Support Specialist One of 20 in Nation Nominated for Positive Impact Award
Mycah Lee Arellano, a Walnut Creek Elementary School parent support specialist and host of The Eagle Talk Show, has been nominated for a Hispanicize “Positive Impact Award.” Arellano’s talk show—the first academic talk show in the state—is sponsored by AISD and is dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of parental involvement.
