AISD Joins School Finance Lawsuit
The AISD Board of Trustees on Monday unanimously adopted a resolution to officially join a lawsuit on school finance to be filed by Thompson & Horton LLP. Although there are three other lawsuits that have or will be filed to protest the Texas school finance system, the District feels that the claims made by Thompson & Horton are most closely aligned with the goals and priorities of AISD.
GENaustin to Host We Are Girls Conference at Austin High
Austin's Girls Empowerment Network (GENaustin) will hold a youth conference for girls in grades 5-12 on Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Austin High School (1715 W. TAKS Retesting Available In October to Out-Of School Students
The Austin Independent School District encourages all students who need to retest, or students who still need to pass a portion of the Exit Level TAKS tests to earn a high school diploma, to register for retesting on October 18-21, 2011. All testing will be held at campuses throughout the school district. Students may also register at their home campus on the day of testing.
