Austin ISD recently hosted three groundbreaking ceremonies for schools undergoing full modernizations, marking the commencement of the first modernization projects since voters approved the 2022 Bond.
Latino Academic Achievement Awards
The Latino Academic Achievement Awards recognizes Latino students and community members who have supported Austin Independent School District’s students, schools or district programs and promoted the Latino culture. The event will be held in person on Friday, April 19, from 6–8:00 P.M. at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center, 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd.
Board Public Hearing – Special Education
Austin ISD will hold a Public Hearing on special education. On Wednesday, Aug. 30, the Texas Education Agency presented an alternative plan for Austin ISD to consider in place of a possible conservatorship over special education. The board will hear public comment and discuss the options presented by TEA.
