Austin ISD to Close at 3 p.m. Because of Tropical Storm Bill
Austin ISD will close at 3 p.m. today due to weather conditions related to tropical storm Bill. All evening activities and events scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, are canceled. This decision is based on updated information from the National Weather Service.
AISD High Schools Ranked Among Best in Nation...Again
Seven Austin ISD high schools are among the best in the nation, according to the 2016 Washington Post America's Most Challenging High Schools rankings. "I am excited to see Austin ISD schools continue to be recognized in Texas and the nation year after year," Superintendent Paul Cruz said. "Our staff and students do outstanding work in the classroom every day.
Austin ISD Launches Caregiver Support, Community Learning Space Webpages
Austin ISD has launched new webpages to support Community Learning Spaces and caregivers as students begin learning remotely for the first four weeks of school, beginning Sept. 8. Austin ISD defines a Community Learning Space as a place outside school where a legal guardian takes the student to receive in-person supervision, access to digital resources and other support.
Transition Services News and Calendar
The Austin ISD Transition Team is committed to providing students and their families with a wide variety of events and resources to help with student success. Monthly Austin ISD transition events will be provided throughout the district to provide transition supports for students in early childhood through high school. All grades are encouraged to attend.
Austin ISD Main Headquarters On the Move
Move in progress July-September After more than 25 years at 1111 W. Sixth St., Austin ISD is moving its headquarters. The move has begun to 4000 S. Interstate 35, at the northwest corner of I-35 and E. Ben White Boulevard. The move is anticipated to be complete by September.

AISD PD Report Student Shot Himself at Lanier
The AISD community is deeply saddened to report a student shot himself at Lanier High School earlier today, Tuesday, Oct. 15. The student has succumbed to the wound.
