Austin ISD Pride Week Events Every year, to celebrate LGBTQIA+ students, staff and families Austin ISD hosts its own Pride Week, a time to highlight the district's commitment to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. This year's weeklong celebration is April 19–24, which aligns with GLSEN’s student-led National Day of Silence on Friday, April 23.

The Texas Department of Agriculture recently announced an extension of current school meal programs through the 2020-21 school year. Through the federally-funded program, all Austin ISD students will receive free school meals through June 3, the last day of school.

More Than 850 Volunteers Made Over Wooldridge Elementary School Saturday
Parents, students and teachers were in for a treat when they arrived at Wooldridge Elementary School on Monday.More than 850 community members, including the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, North Austin Civic Association and the Austin Police Department gave the school a makeover over the weekend.
Board Approves Human Sexuality and Responsibility Scope and Sequence
The Austin ISD Board of Trustees approved the revised Human Sexuality and Responsibility scope and sequence at its February 25 meeting. Austin ISD Trustees Approve 2017–18 Instructional Calendar
At its regular meeting last night, the Austin ISD Board of Trustees approved the district's 2017–18 instructional calendar. The calendar includes a TEA waiver to start and end the 2017–18 school year a week earlier.Three versions of the calendar, each along with a waiver version, were submitted by the Calendar Task Force and shared for review, input and online voting.
