AISD Schools, Buses Operate as Scheduled Today; Expect Traffic Delays

AUSTIN, Texas--Austin ISD's schools and buses will operate as scheduled today. Due to the rain, there may be delays in bus pick-up and school arrival times.AISD asks parents to please add extra time to their commutes this morning and to expect traffic delays. The district also reminds Austin drivers to stop for school buses whose lights are flashing.

MEDIA ADVISORY AISD to break ground on Career Launch addition at LBJ Early College High School

Austin ISD will break ground May 13 on an approximately 5,000-square-foot building to accommodate the new Career Launch program at LBJ Early College High School.The program, a partnership with Seton Healthcare Family and Austin Community College, allows students to earn an associate degree in health science, preparing them to further their education in the medical field.

AISD Board of Trustees Approves New Principal Appointments

Tonight, Austin ISD's Board of Trustees approved new principal appointments for Dobie Middle School and Oak Hill Elementary School. Dobie Middle SchoolMaggie Araujo was appointed to lead Dobie Middle School. Araujo most recently served as assistant principal of testing and intervention at John B. Connally High School in Pflugerville ISD.
