The Austin ISD is excited to announce that the district will move forward with the hiring of an equity officer.
The district will host two public meetings for families, staff and the community to address the creation of a candidate profile for the equity officer and to get feedback on the position.
The goal is to hire a person by the end of June 2019.
The community will be asked about the ideal characteristics and qualities for an equity officer to succeed in ensuring equitable opportunities for all students through the following guiding categories:
- Student Achievement
- Relationships
- Systems and Operations
- Innovation
- Professional Learning
- Experience
Attached here are the statements for each guiding category.
1. Tuesday, April 2, 6-7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at the Barbara Jordan Elementary School, 6711 Johnny Morris Road
2. Tuesday, April 9, 6-7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Travis Early College High School, 1211 E. Oltorf Street.
Childcare and interpretation services will be provided.
