Dream Big with the Austin ISD Summer Internship Program

Austin ISD, Austin Ed Fund, and the Austin Chamber have partnered to provide high school students with hands-on training, skill-building opportunities, and meaningful real-world work experience. Now entering our third year, we are committed to expanding access and strengthening opportunities for students across our district.

What is the Austin ISD Summer Internship Program?

A paid summer internship program designed to prepare Austin ISD high school students for the workforce through industry exposure, professional training, and supportive coaching.

Program Dates

  • June 8 - July 24, 2026 
  • June 29 - July 3 (vacation week)
  • Interns work 20 hrs per week for 6 weeks.
     

Who Can Participate?

Austin ISD students entering grades 10–12 are placed with business and community partners across the city based on their interests and industry availability.

 

 

Student Interns

Become a Student Intern this Summer!

Learn from Austin-area professionals, earn high school credit, and receive a stipend—all while building skills that will prepare you for your future career.

Student Interns Will:

  • Learn from industry experts across Austin
  • Earn high school course credit
  • Enjoy flexible scheduling
  • Receive a $2,000 stipend for living expenses
  • Participate in a 20-hour work week for 6 weeks
  • Get ongoing support through professional career training and coaching from certified teachers
