AISD Mentoring Network

The AISD Mentoring Network was established in August 2017, following the dedicated efforts and guidance of the Mentoring Advisory Council (MAC). This collaborative professional network includes the District Mentoring Coordinator and representatives from various mentoring organizations serving AISD students. These Recognized Mentoring Providers have demonstrated a commitment to program quality and enhancement as evidenced by their understanding of the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring. Any organization providing mentoring services to AISD students is invited to participate.

Recognized Mentoring Providers

At the start of the 2018-19 school year, sixteen Recognized Mentoring Providers participate in the AISD Mentoring Network. The District Mentoring Coordinator provides technical assistance, training, and networking opportunities for mentoring programs serving AISD students. Semester meetings provide an opportunity to discuss the status and impact of mentoring in the district and invites collaborative action towards common goals.

Through collaboration with the District Mentoring Coordinator, the purpose of the AISD Mentoring Network is to increase the number of quality mentoring opportunities for AISD students. Participating organizations are asked to:

  • Register with Youth Services Mapping (YSM) and maintain an updated profile.
  • Have a service agreement, MOU, or contract with the district.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to quality programming and enhancement.
  • Have a Program Profile on file with AISD Mentoring (Dept. of School, Family, Community Education).
  • Provide student ID numbers and total number of students served twice a year.
  • Attend AISD Mentoring Network semester meetings.
