David Simon

Executive Director of Facilities Maintenance

David has served the district since 2015, bringing a strategic, operations-focused approach that supports the critical work of Facilities Maintenance and Custodial teams. He understands that safe, efficient, and well-maintained environments are essential to daily organizational success.

He previously served as an Area Supervisor for Austin ISD Food Service and warehouse operations, where he led large teams and managed complex logistics across the district. David also played a key role as the Director of the Emergency Management Department, ensuring compliance with state requirements during a pivotal time when the State of Texas introduced new requirements into the Education Code all while building strong partnerships with campus leaders and guiding teams through critical incidents.

David holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and has a background in commercial restaurant management. His experience in strategic planning, budget management, and operational efficiency allows him to effectively support front-line staff and districtwide initiatives.

Jason Hawkins

Director of Facilities Maintenance

Jason has served AISD as the HVACR Foreman, in the building automation System controls department, as well as the building operations department. He brought previous experience as a M.E.P Supervisor, and Electrical Foreman. His educational background includes a BBA in management from Texas State University, as well as technical trades school for electronics.
