Community support will bring $41 million to AISD educators and classrooms
Austin voters have approved Austin ISD Proposition A, which will invest $41 million into the district to pay educators.
Why it matters: The community’s support means the district can maintain previous pay raises while also giving 85% of district teachers and staff new raises.
The details: Prop A will provide funding for teacher and staff raises and additional support positions for campuses.

Incoming Freshmen interested in auditioning for the McCallum Fine Arts Academy (FAA) should attend the annual Fine Arts Academy Showcase. During the Showcase, McCallum FAA will present all of our major offerings, review the audition process, take last-minute sign ups for the audition workshop, and show all of the opportunities that come with joining the McCallum Fine Arts Academy.
This session will help families understand the guardianship process for students who are 18 or nearing 18. We will also discuss alternatives to guardianship and additional support available for adult students.

Approximately 1,000 Austin ISD students will participate in the 27th Annual Fall Festival for Strings on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 12:15-12:45 p.m. at the Delco Activity Center! Also known as "String Fest," the event was started by William Dick, who taught strings in Austin ISD for 27 years. The event involves all beginning Austin ISD orchestras and high school seniors, and is one of the largest music events in the district.
With the new district attendance initiative, your child’s attendance could mean extra money for their school.
Why it matters: Improved attendance is not only essential better academic outcomes, it’s also directly tied to how the state funds Austin ISD. If Austin ISD increases attendance by just 1%, the district would see $4.5 million in additional revenue.
Austin ISD has made the difficult decision to move to a new special education data management system to replace Ed Plan for the 2025–26 school year.
Why it matters: Reliable, accessible data is essential for us to meet the needs of students receiving special education or 504 services.
A new system would allow us to streamline processes for data input and improve tracking and visibility for our users.
