Ad Hoc Community Budget Committee 2025-2026

The purpose of the Ad Hoc Community Budget Committee is to help the district evaluate opportunities to reduce costs that align to the Board of Trustees’ long-term budget priorities:

  • Ensure cuts in any area are equity-driven
  • Consider the long-term impact of cuts/reductions
  • Ensure that the teachers’ and students’ voice have been heard in the decision
  • Center literacy- align to student outcomes
  • Listen to the people impacted before cuts are final

The committee will use an equity-based rubric to evaluate budget reduction options. The tool considers the potential impact to the educational outcomes of historically underserved student groups and to the staff who serve those students.

The Ad Hoc Budget Committee will create a list of potential cuts prioritized using the equity-driven rubric. District leadership will use this prioritized list to develop a recommended plan to the board to reduce costs by $92 million over the next 3 years.
