Austin ISD Bullying & Harassment Policy

A safe and civil environment is needed for students to learn and attain high academic standards and to promote healthy human relationships. The purpose of the Austin Independent School District’s policy on bullying is to assist the district in its goal of preventing and responding to acts of bullying, intimidation, violence, and other similar disruptive behavior. An act of bullying, by either an individual student or a group of students, is expressly prohibited on district property or at school-related functions.

Ortega Elementary School’s Magical Approach to Attendance (En Español)

For the past four years, Sandy Castro—affectionately known as the "Attendance Fairy" at Ortega Elementary School—has worked her magic to inspire students to come to school. Dressed in her whimsical costume, complete with fairy wings, Sandy has become a beloved figure on campus, transforming attendance from a requirement into a reason to celebrate. 

Tools For Success Live! / ¡Herramientas para el éxito en VIVO!

This year, we're excited to announce a new addition to our TFS program! For the first time ever, we'll be hosting a live event where families can meet our TFS presenters and other community members in person. There will be a panel discussion on important topics like parental stress and Austin ISD's emergency plans.
This will offer an opportunity to build meaningful relationships between families, schools, and the community.
