How Austin ISD will handle e-cigarette education this year (En español)

Students will undergo an anti-vaping course if they’re found with an nicotine/tobacco e-cigarette on campus, in alignment with Austin ISD’s District of Innovation Plan. 

Why it matters: These resources will help keep students at their home campus while getting additional wellness education to understand the harm of nicotine e-cigarettes.

How it works: On the first offense and second offense, the student will get campus-based support and education.

The District Advisory Council is a committee of parents, students, business and community representatives, teachers, principals, and other district staff. The formation of the DAC is required by state law (Texas Education Code, §11.251). Specific functions of the DAC include providing review and comment on:

Linder Elementary School Groundbreaking Celebration

As part of the 2022 Bond Program, Linder Elementary will receive a full campus modernization. The project is moving into the construction phase, which is set to start fall 2024. Join us to celebrate this milestone with a groundbreaking ceremony which will include performances by Linder students and light refreshments.
