Austin ISD schools and offices will close Thursday and Friday, Feb. 3-4, due to expected winter weather and road conditions. Today, all after-school activities are also canceled, including after-school care.
Austin ISD COVID-19 testing hubs and vaccination sites will also be closed during this time.
If the board approves a resolution, the district will not need to make up these two days.
Freezing temperatures and icy roads are forecast for the Austin area in the next few days, so we’ve made the decision to close all schools and offices for Thursday, Feb. 3, and Friday, Feb. 4.
And today, Wednesday, Feb. 2, after-school activities will be canceled, including after-school care.
The details: Students and staff will not be expected to learn or work virtually during the closure.
