Students riding Austin ISD school buses will be required to wear a mask following federal orders provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Why it matters: Because of Gov. Greg Abbott’s executive order, Austin ISD can’t mandate masks in our schools, but the federal order requiring them will apply on our school buses. Mask usage was effective last school year to keep infection rates low in schools.
We have a free COVID-19 (Pfizer) vaccine opportunity available for our AISD Community, all family members included, 12 years of age and older. This opportunity is being hosted by Central Texas Allied Health Institute. This clinic will serve students with diverse and special needs. This is a walk-in/indoor clinic, but for those needing individualized assistance (i.e. a student needing to get their vaccine as they stay in the car), curbside service is available in the front loop by the main doors if needed.
Our Early College Programs prepare you for a career in demand such as technology, healthcare, real estate, construction or education. While in high school, you can earn a two-year associates degree at no cost through our partnership with Austin Community College (ACC). These college credits can be put towards a four-year degree or you can enter directly in the workforce after graduation. The choice is yours. Either way, you can get up to two years of college credit without taking on any debt.
