An Important Message From Superintendent Elizalde / Un mensaje importante del Superintendente Elizalde

Dear Team Austin ISD,  Thank you for your continued work to educate our students while also maintaining the health and safety guidelines necessary during this time. I’m writing to provide you with a summary of the most recent information I shared with our Board of Trustees last night. Below you will find key messages from my report.

Multilingual Department Holding Dual Language Info Sessions

Dual Language Info Sessions

Did you know that your student has the opportunity to be bilingual, bi-literate and bicultural? Austin ISD is proud to offer multiple, innovative dual language and multilingual programs in the district. To assist families, AISD is hosting a one-hour virtual session Thursday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. in Spanish and again on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. in English. These meetings are an opportunity for families to learn more about various language programs offered by AISD.

School Finance 101 Information Session

Join us Thurs., Dec. 10, 5:30-6:30 p.m. via Zoom for our School Finance 101 Information Session.

This event is the first in a series that will educate families about how their tax dollars work for students and provide the tools to engage through every step of the process—from your local school’s budget to the Texas legislature. This event will focus on the ways in which Austin ISD receives money and assigns it to campuses, and what opportunities families have to make their voices heard in those decisions.
