Remote learning will be available for the entire 2020–21 school year / Aprendizaje remoto continuará para todo el año escolar 2020–21

Austin ISD will continue offering remote learning for the entire 2020–21 school year. Students will have access to high-quality lessons at all levels, as well as Zoom and other sessions with their teachers and classmates.

AISD is committed to keeping our staff, students and families safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic, and remote instruction is part of that commitment.

Successful First Week We want to thank the families, children, teachers, administrators, support staff and everyone who made the first week of transitioning to on-campus learning a success. As we move forward, here are four reminders that will help the process continue according to plan: Please take your child’s temperature before heading out the door to the bus stop or to campus. If they have a temperature of 100.0 degrees or higher, please keep them home for the day.

Staff Flu Shot Information

Spread the word, not the flu!

Our employees’ well-being is a top priority. Starting in September, the Benefits & Wellness Team will promote and encourage staff to receive a flu shot this year. Employees currently enrolled in any AISD Health Insurance Plan can visit a local HEB or CVS pharmacy to receive a free flu shot. In addition, we will offer onsite, drive-thru clinics to accommodate for safety of staff and pharmacists. Below is the on-site drive-thru clinics schedule:

Additional Student Holiday/Professional Development Day

Reminder: SOME SCHOOLS don't have class April 30. As part of being a District of Innovation, vertical teams are allowed to schedule additional professional development days for staff, thus creating extra holidays for students.

The following campuses will have one of their District of Innovation staff development days April 30, which means no in-person or virtual classes for students:

  • Austin

Middle Schools

  • O. Henry
  • Small

Elementary Schools

Reminder: SOME SCHOOLS don't have class March 12. As part of being a District of Innovation, vertical teams are allowed to schedule additional professional development days for staff, thus creating extra holidays for students.

The following campuses will have one of their District of Innovation staff development days March 12, which means no in-person or virtual classes for students:
