Beginning July 22, families will receive free produce boxes at AISD curbside meal sites.
The boxes will feature locally grown produce, such as peppers, melons, squash, carrots and other seasonal staples. The Common Market Texas, a mission-driven distributor of sustainable, local farm foods will prepare and deliver the produce boxes to AISD.

As you may have heard, Austin ISD will suspend in-person education and deliver virtual instruction for the first three weeks of the 2020–21 school year. We will continue to look to federal, state and local authorities for guidance and directives. You can anticipate further communication on how we have made things more efficient, rigorous and engaging in the near future. In the meantime, we want you to know:
We are now using AISD Help for general questions, feedback, and concerns, and Safe Space for anonymous reporting. This reporting tool makes it easy and confidential for students and families to report bullying, harassment, or other personal crises.
Austin ISD will host two virtual information sessions to help give students, families and staff a stronger sense of what the return to school will look and feel like in August.
AISD invites its learning communities to participate in the reopening conversation. Participants will get a look into "a day in the life" of at-home distance learning and on-campus face-to-face learning. Events will be streamed on Facebook Live with consecutive Spanish interpretation.

There is lots of uncertainty right now about who will be face to face in our schools and at what point teachers will be back in classrooms with teachers. Austin ISD will follow health guidance from local, state and federal officials in order to make the best decisions to keep our students and families safe. In the short term, it has been decided that all instruction will be virtual from August 18 to September 7.
