Need to Know: Educational Models and Definitions We realize families want to make the best choice for their students. Prior to face-to-face instruction beginning again, families will be given an intent form to determine the caregiver’s learning choice for their students (remote or in-person). Please know that flexibility will be incorporated at specific times during the school year to allow caregivers to change their choice regarding how instruction is delivered.

Austin ISD Board of Trustees Names Stephanie Elizalde Lone Finalist for Superintendent

The Austin ISD Board of Trustees has named Stephanie Elizalde as the lone finalist to serve as Superintendent of the Austin Independent School District. 

The decision comes after an extensive process which included six weeks of gathering stakeholder input from more than 200 organizations, 2,000 community leaders and individuals, community surveys, and community public testimony. The nationwide search included the consideration of 64 applicants from 24 states, and a comprehensive candidate interview process.

AISD to Provide Free Produce Boxes featuring Texas-Grown Foods

Austin ISD families will receive free produce boxes at AISD curbside meal sites beginning Wednesday, July 22. 

The boxes will feature locally grown produce, such as peppers, melons, squash, carrots and other seasonal staples. The Common Market Texas, a mission-driven distributor of sustainable, local farm foods will prepare and deliver the produce boxes to AISD.
