AISD to Resume Weekend Meal Offerings

Austin ISD Food Services has reinstated its weekend meal program, allowing families with students under the age of 19 to again pick up bundles, which include six meals, during Friday distribution. 

Families are recommended to bring bags to help get their weekend meals home safely on Fridays. Meals are provided for free at more than 70 locations while school is closed due to COVID-19 precautions. AISD is working in collaboration with the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Austin ISD Principal Sews Masks For Community In Need

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck Austin, Garza Independence High School Principal Linda Webb decided to act.

“I was watching the news one night, and they were talking about the need for masks. I knew that AISD workers were going out and feeding our kids, and I was worried,” Webb said. “I picked up the phone and called my quilting group, and I told them what was happening. We all immediately got to work.”

Austin ISD Encourages Families to Update Their Contact Information

AISD is encouraging district families to update their contact numbers and email in their Parent Cloud account by phone or online. Updated contact information will help keep families informed with up-to-date school and district messages amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

To update by phone, families may call their respective campuses. 

To update online, families may follow these steps:
