Austin ISD & Travis County Partnered for Voter Registration at Graduation Ceremonies

During Austin ISD's graduation ceremonies, graduates walked the stage and also walked out as registered voters.  Graduates were able to use the wait time before walking the stage to register to vote.  

In a partnership with Travis County's Tax Office, students learned about the importance of registering to vote and voting, as well as how to seek out nonpartisan information on candidates and issues.  

Austin ISD to hold Media Availability

What:  Media is invited to join Austin ISD for an open discussion about items of interest on next week’s regular board meeting to be held on Monday, June 17. The discussion will include the Fiscal Year 2019/2020 budget.

Youth Art Month Student Exhibition Recap: More Than 2,000 Works Displayed

More than 2,000 students representing 113 campuses exhibited artwork to the community during the annual Youth Art Month exhibition.  

During March and April, more than 3,000 students, families, staff and community members visited the AISD Performing Arts Center to enjoy the artwork.

Approximately 150 Austin ISD visual arts teachers collected and prepared the student artwork for the exhibition to represent the best-of-the-best for their campus and community.

The Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics Career Cluster

This career cluster focuses in planning, management, and movement of people, materials, and goods by road, pipeline, air, rail and water and related professional support services such as transportation infrastructure planning and management, logistics services, mobile equipment and facility maintenance.

This career cluster includes occupations ranging from automotive mechanic, avionics technician, and automotive entrepreneur to pilots and logistics planning professionals.

Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Career Cluster

The Engineering career cluster focuses on planning, designing, testing, building, and maintaining of machines, structures, materials, systems, and processes using empirical evidence and science, technology, and math principles. 

This career cluster includes occupations ranging from mechanical engineer and drafter to electrical engineer and to mapping technician.

Manufacturing Career Cluster

The Manufacturing career cluster focuses on planning, managing, and performing the processing of materials into intermediate or final products and related professional and technical support activities such as production planning and control, maintenance, and process engineering.

This career cluster includes occupations ranging from welder and machinist to industrial engineering technician and semiconductor processing technician.

Human Services Career Cluster

The Human Services Career Cluster focuses on preparing individuals for employment in career pathways that relate to families and human needs such as counseling and mental health services, family and community services, personal care services, and consumer services.

This career cluster includes occupations ranging from community health workers to cosmetologists and nutritionists.

Hospitality & Tourism Career Cluster

The Hospitality & Tourism Career Cluster focuses on the management, marketing, and operations of restaurants and other food/beverage services, lodging, attractions, recreation events and travel-related services.

This career cluster includes occupations ranging from reservation and transportation ticket agent to event planner and general manager.
