Salute 2019

Salute, co-hosted by Austin ISD and Austin Partners in Education, is an opportunity to recognize some of AISD's outstanding team members and volunteers for their continued dedication to student excellence and achievement in our schools.

We recognize the Teachers of the Year, Classified Staff of the Year, PTA of the year, Principal of the Year, Librarian of the Year, Counselor of the Year and Assistant Principal of the Year. In addition, Teachers of Promise will be honored. The event also will include student performances, a reception and many more surprises. 

Budget Briefs: Task Force Submits Final Report to Superintendent, Present to Board

The Budget Stabilization Task Force submitted its final report to Superintendent Paul Cruz Jan. 4 concluding its months-long process to identify creative strategies to close the budget deficit. The Task Force presented an overview of its process, findings and proposed recommendations at the Jan. 7 Board of Trustees work session. 

Austin ISD Board of Trustees Elects New Officers

AISD Board of Trustees elected new officers at its work session last night.

Geronimo M. Rodriguez will continue as board president. Rodriguez has served District 6 since June 2017 and as board president since May 2018.

Cindy Anderson was named vice president. Anderson has served in the at-large position 8 since November 2016.

Amber Elenz was named board secretary. Elenz has served District 5 since November 2012.

2018–19 Parent & Families Survey Now Available

The Austin ISD 2018–19 Parent & Families Survey is now available and is accepting responses online through March 8.

Families are encouraged to participate so they can share input on district and campus performance. The survey includes questions about how well school staff and leadership communicate with families and parents, as well as how easily parents may communicate about their students and how families learn about programs offered at their school. 

The results will help district leadership learn how to best to improve services for our students.

SPEAK: Support Parent's Education, Advocacy, and Knowledge Special Education Law Series

Join us for the last night of SPEAK: Support Parents’ Education, Advocacy, and Knowledge, a 3-night Special Education Law Series in collaboration with UT Law School INCLUDE Project that will build your knowledge, skills and confidence around special education, the ARD process and special education law.

The series will be held from 6–8 p.m. at Reilly Elementary School Library, 405 Denson Drive on these dates:
