Norman Tigers and Sims Stars Community Picnic

We invite you to join your Norman and Sims communities for a picnic, fun activities and the chance to meet one another before the start of the 2018–19 school year.

Austin ISD Seeking Applicants for Budget Stabilization Task Force

In response to the district’s growing budget deficit, Austin ISD is forming a Budget Stabilization Task Force.

The ad hoc advisory body will meet on Wednesdays this summer to explore a broad range of actions the district could take to balance the budget in the next two to three years.

While the work of the task force will inform potential topics of discussion, the preliminary scope of work will include:

A Note Above: AISD’s Music Education Program Receives National Recognition

The NAMM Foundation has designated Austin ISD as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for its outstanding commitment to music education. 

The National Association for Music Merchants Foundation awards the designation to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in providing music access and education to all students.

2018 Austin ISD Latino Academic Achievement Awards

More than 200 Austin ISD Latino students, three community leaders and a former AISD interim superintendent Gonzalo Garza will be honored at the 2018 AISD Latino Academic Achievement Awards.

When: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 12

Where: Austin ISD Performing Arts Center, 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd.

What: The event will feature performances by AISD students. Admission to the 2018 AISD Latino Academic Achievement Awards is free and open to the public.
