Anderson High School Honors More Than 450 Graduates

Anderson High School honored more than 450 students who were presented with their diplomas at a graduation ceremony this afternoon.

"Run with your talent and define success on your own terms," said valedictorian Rachel Snead. 

Among Anderson’s accomplishments this year were:

· Winning the Best Direction Award from the Greater Austin High School Musical Theater Awards for “Curtains,” the schools musical production.

· Qualifying 24 of its students for the UIL academics regional tournament, a school record.

AISD Names Alan Lambert Director of Fine Arts

The Austin ISD Board of Trustees approved Alan Lambert as the new director of fine arts for the district, effective May 29.
 
Lambert will oversee the fine arts department, which includes art, music, band, choir, dance, guitar, orchestra, theater and visual arts, serving all schools in the district. 
 
He also will oversee AISD's Performing Arts Center, a 2008 bond-funded facility with a 1,2

LBJ and LASA Seniors Celebrate Graduation

High school diplomas were awarded this morning to more than 450 high school seniors from LBJ Early College High School and the Liberal Arts and Science Academy combined in a graduation ceremony at the Frank Erwin Center.

LASA Valedictorian Gabriel Alvarez marveled at "this beautiful and complex moment" as his LBJ ECHS counterpart, Alyson Weekley, implored her fellow graduates to take ownership of their futures.

Travis Early College High School Salutes Graduates

In a graduation ceremony at the Frank Erwin Center today, 284 students from Travis Early College High School and Travis Graduation Preparatory Academy received their diplomas.

"I want you to know no matter how tough things get, you will get up and do what you need to succeed," said Travis High School Valedictorian Angelica Rodriguez. 

Salutatorian Adela Hernandes Jaimes spoke of her years learning English and how her teachers and staff supported her. 

"As I stand here today, I can say I truly understand what it is to achieve great things," said Jaimes.

McCallum High School Awards Diplomas to Graduating Seniors

McCallum High School presented diplomas to 356 high school seniors in a graduation ceremony this morning at the Frank Erwin Center.

"I'm so proud of you for your hard work and determination," said Superintendent Paul Cruz to McCallum High School graduates.

Salutatorian Margeaux Brown reminded graduates that each person has a story and to be sure and follow their own path. 

Among this year’s achievements by the school and its students were:
