Travis Early College High School Salutes Graduates

In a graduation ceremony at the Frank Erwin Center today, 284 students from Travis Early College High School and Travis Graduation Preparatory Academy received their diplomas.

"I want you to know no matter how tough things get, you will get up and do what you need to succeed," said Travis High School Valedictorian Angelica Rodriguez. 

Salutatorian Adela Hernandes Jaimes spoke of her years learning English and how her teachers and staff supported her. 

"As I stand here today, I can say I truly understand what it is to achieve great things," said Jaimes.

Among the campus and individual accomplishments at the school this year were:

  • The class of 2017 earned 826 hours of college credit.
  • The senior class also earned more than 150 industry certifications through the Career and Technical Education program.
  • Seniors in the Texas Association of Future Educators chapter earned six Blue Ribbon awards at the TAFE State Summit.
