Two Murchison VEX Robotics teams excelled at the CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championships in Council Bluffs, Iowa, in early April.
Both Matadors squads finished in the top 16 teams out of 93 middle school squads from around the world.
The Murchison 8512F Team Cringeworthy won the Excellence Award, the competition's highest honor, which recognizes the best all-around team at the competition.

Austin Independent School District is proud to announce the official groundbreaking ceremony to redesign a section of Reagan Early College High School for the Innovative Career Launch program at Reagan ECHS.
The groundbreaking is at 10 a.m. May 19 in the front of the school.
In collaboration with Austin Community College and Dell Technologies, this new program offers students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma, complete an internship at Dell Technology and earn an associate degree from Austin Community College.
Incoming freshman are now being recruited for this program.

Bailey Middle School hosts Healthy People, Healthy Planet, an evening celebration of Earth Day.
The night includes basic bike safety information, followed by the Junior Bears Bike Races for all fourth- and fifth-grade students and the Bailey Bears Bike Race Challenge for all sixth- through eighth-grade students.
After the races, visitors can enjoy a screening of the Disney Pixar film, "Wall-E," about the last surviving trash-pickup robot left on earth.
Austin ISD seniors will participate in Central Texas College Signing Day, a community-wide celebration that brings together 1,000 college-bound seniors from school districts throughout the region.
Inspired by the NCAA’s National Signing Day, College Signing Day reinforces the idea that excellence in the classroom should be given as much attention as excellence in athletics.
