Dual Language Program Community Meeting
Come experience a night of dance as more than 650 students from 23 AISD schools perform in the 2016 AISD Dance Spectacular honoring our nation's veterans.
The show begins at 7 p.m. at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center. Admission is free, but space is limited. Tickets will given from AISD Dance departments or at the door if seats are available.

The Annual Fall Festival for Strings has been moved to the Delco Center, 4601 Pecan Brook Drive, because of the possibility of rain. Please join us at our new, indoor location!
Join Austin ISD's 800 beginning orchestra students—representing 20 middle schools and five elementary schools—and the high school Senior String Players for an afternoon of beautiful music at the 43rd Annual Fall Festival for Strings.
The festival kicks off at 12:15 p.m. on Nov. 8.
Admission is free and the event is open to the public. In case of rain, the performance will be moved to the Delco Center.

Austin ISD Superintendent Paul Cruz will meet up with a few students on Monday to vote as a way of promoting early voting and civic engagement to AISD students.
Who: Superintendent Paul Cruz will be available to talk about the importance of voting. A few students from Reagan Early College High School will also be available to talk about their first voting experience.
The 2016 Lamar Middle School & Fine Arts Academy Showcase is 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the AISD Performing Arts Center.
This event is free and open to the public! Come learn more about the great programming offered at Lamar.

Who: The town hall lineup includes a panel of Austin ISD school board trustees, current and former city council members, Travis County elected officials and others.

AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas at Austin is launching the TEXAS MicroMajor™, a new initiative to help high school students become better prepared for succeeding at leading universities. The MicroMajor program builds on UT Austin’s leadership in working with school districts, educators and students across the state to bridge gaps between traditional high school courses and the expectations of colleges and universities.
The Facility Master Plan team will be at the City of Austin Community Connections Resource Fair Saturday, Oct.. 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mendez Middle School.
Austin ISD, in collaboration with the city of Austin and Travis County, is hosting a Building Bridges #AISDFuture Town Hall.
Join us from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Nov. 5, at the Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex, 1156 Hargrave St.
Austin Mayor Steve Adler will be there to welcome everyone.
The town hall will focus on the district's Facility Master Plan, with attendees having the opportunity to learn about the planning process and ask questions about how the plan may affect their school.
Everyone is encouraged to attend this free and informative event!
Austin ISD's Facilities and Bond Planning Advisory Committee meets 9 a.m–1 p.m. Oct. 29 in the Mendez Middle School Library, 5106 Village Square Drive.
The AISD Board of Trustees appoints citizens to the FABPAC to evaluate capital improvement needs of the district and to provide recommendations to the board on long-range facilities planning, on amendments to the Facility Master Plan and on the scope of work and timing of future bond programs.
All regular meetings of AISD advisory bodies are open to the public.
