Texas Education Agency Says AISD Exceeds All Targets of State Accountability System

According to the Texas Education Agency's preliminary state accountability ratings released today, 113 of the district's schools have Met Standard or Met Alternative Standard—the highest rating schools can earn—on the state's accountability system.

Under the state accountability system, all Texas public districts, campuses and charters are assigned a label of:

Reminder: New Bell Schedule for All Students / Recordatorio: Horario nuevo para todos estudiantes

The bell schedule for all Austin ISD students changes this fall because of a new state law measuring the school day in minutes instead of days.

Elementary schools: 7:45 a.m.–2:57 p.m.

Middle schools: 8:25 a.m.–3:40 p.m.

High schools: 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Bell times for magnet or other academies that have cross-town busing do not change.

Ann Richards School: 9:15 a.m.–4:35 p.m.

After UIL Realignment, Austin ISD Teams Eye Another Successful Year

To keep up with enrollment shifts, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) does a realignment of its participating schools every two years. The new enrollment numbers determine a school’s classification (from 1A to 6A), which also means a potential shuffling of districts. 2016 is a realignment year, so there are some big changes for AISD schools.
