MEDIA ADVISORY: AISD Expands Pre-K3 to 13 Additional Campuses
Even more families will be able to send their children to prekindergarten for 3-year-olds (Pre-K3) next year. AISD, with the help of its partners, is adding Pre-K3 to 13 more schools.

What: Pre-K3 announcement, recognition of partners, a short video on the importance of Pre-K followed by a Q&A.
Three Names Submitted to AISD Board for Consideration in Renaming of Robert E. Lee Elementary School
Robert E. Lee Elementary School’s Campus Advisory Council has recommended three names to Austin ISD trustees for consideration for the renaming of the school. The names are, in order of preference: Russell Lee, Bettie Mann and Wheeler’s Grove.
In a report submitted to the school board, the CAC stated the following:
Show Your Teacher Appreciation May 2–6
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 2–6 this year. AISD’s recognition will continue throughout the month—and includes Salute on Tuesday, May 17, at the AISD Performing Arts Center.
This is a wonderful opportunity for school communities to celebrate AISD’s more than 6,300 classroom teachers—and how they make a difference in the lives of Austin’s children.
Trustees Recognize 24 National Board-Certified Teachers
Trustees recognized 24 new National Board Certified teachers during the board's meeting April 25.
Community Budget Meetings
Austin ISD wants your feedback about the district’s preliminary budget. During the month of May, AISD will host community budget conversations to discuss strategic investment in priorities, and long-range financial planning.
Two in-person conversations will be held at campuses. Community members can also take part in a group viewings at satellite locations on May 11, during which participants can listen to a budget presentation and submit questions.
Child care, refreshments and interpretation services will be provided at in-person conversations.
