Superintendent Surprises Elementary, Middle and High School Teachers of the Year
Superintendent Paul Cruz surprised three teachers in their classrooms yesterday to announce their selection as Austin ISD's 2016 Teachers of the Year for elementary, middle and high school.
Being selected as a Teacher of the Year is one of the highest honors the district bestows on AISD teachers.

AISD Pre-K Registration Now Open
Austin ISD begins registering students for Pre-K today, April 4. Enrollment is open for 3- and 4-year-olds.

AISD Invites Families to Kindergarten Orientation on April 5
Austin ISD invites families and their children to join us April 5 throughout the district for Kindergarten Orientation.
Join us to learn more about the district's full-day kindergarten program, including curriculum, daily schedules, attendance requirements, the school year calendar, how to help a child prepare for school and much more!
Children who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 are eligible to enroll. Items to bring with you to Kindergarten Orientation:
AISD Board Approves New Principals
On March 28, Austin ISD's Board of Trustees approved new principal appointments for Casey, Patton and Walnut Creek elementary schools and Burnet and Martin middle schools.
David Dean will lead Burnet Middle School. Dean most recently served as Burnet Middle School's interim principal.
Lina Villarreal was appointed to lead Casey Elementary School. Villarreal most recently served as interim principal at Casey.
