After-School Programs Welcome Families to 16th Annual Showcase
Austin ISD Prime Time and ACE 21st Century After School Program celebrate the 16th annual showcase Saturday, May 7, to highlight the importance of after-school programming.
AISD student musicians and dancers will perform throughout the showcase. The event also features a variety of hands-on activities and outdoor games designed to get kids moving.
Now Playing on Spotify: Kealing Middle School Recording Studio Release Party
When Spotify says, “Music for everyone,” it’s especially true at Kealing Middle School. The school was gifted a recording studio built from materials that came from Spotify House, a live music venue built annually at SXSW.
Spotify, DPR Construction, MINDPOP, Rebuilding Together Austin and Acoustic Spaces partnered together during Spring Break to build three mixing and mastering recording studios.
Help AISD Develop its Long-Term Facilities Master Plan
AISD will host a series of community engagement meetings about its long-term facilities master planning process and to hear from the community.

Washington Post Ranks Seven AISD High Schools Among Best in Nation
Seven Austin ISD high schools are among the best in the nation, according to the 2016 Washington Post America's Most Challenging High Schools rankings.
"I am excited to see Austin ISD schools continue to be recognized in Texas and the nation year after year," Superintendent Paul Cruz said. "Our staff and students do outstanding work in the classroom every day.

AISD Board of Trustees Approves Appointment of New Executive Director of Academics and Social and Emotional Learning
On Monday, Austin ISD's Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Elisabeth Goodnow to lead the Academics and Social and Emotional Learning teams.
Goodnow most recently served as assistant superintendent for academics and schools at Cedar Hill ISD. In this role, she oversaw district implementation of curriculum, instruction and assessment.
