The IB Experience at Anderson High School

You are invited to join Anderson High School for the IB Experience, an information session about the school's International Baccalaureate program.

The event will feature an overview of the program, followed by a panel discussion with current and former students. The IB program is a rigorous curriculum based on international standards of achievement that focus on preparing students for success in college.

Austin ISD invites students, their families and the community to the inaugural High School Showcase!

The showcase takes place from 9 a.m.–noon Jan. 9 at the Palmer Events Center.

This free event is open to the public for visitors to learn more about the innovative programs our district and our high schools have to offer.

Free shuttle services to and from the showcase is available at the following locations

• All AISD middle schools
• Carruth Administration Center, 1111 W. Sixth St.
• Austin High School, 1715 W. Cesar Chavez St.

Parking is also available at the Palmer Events Center for $8.

AISD To Participate in White House Initiative Preparing High-Needs Students for Postsecondary Success

Austin ISD has been invited to help launch the My Brother's Keeper School Success Mentors Initiative in an effort to provide additional support for high-needs students to enable them to succeed academically and graduate from high school prepared for college, career and life. 
 
"I'm honored and excited that we were one of only 12 school districts selected from throughout the nation to share how we support and prepare our students and communities for success," AISD Superintendent Paul Cruz said. 

Superintendent Announces Schools Frozen to Transfers for 2016–17

Austin ISD Superintendent Paul Cruz last night announced the names of 23 schools that will be frozen to transfers during the 2016–17 school year.

Each year, AISD determines which schools should be frozen to transfers because they have, or are expected to have, enrollments that exceed their capacities. Some schools also are frozen to maintain stability in tracking patterns.
